Mark Hunter officially opens 4th Heald Green Cub Scout Pack


Mark Hunter, local Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, was guest of honour at the inaugural meeting of the 4th Heald Green Cub Scout Pack at the Cheadle Mosque.

Cub Scouts is open to boys and girls aged 8 to 10 and a half, and they take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging; meetings consist of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors when the weather is warmer.  Badges area presented to reward Cub Scouts as they extend their skills and experiences­, and older members are responsible in supporting younger Cubs.

Commenting afterwards, Mark Hunter said:

“We are very fortunate in our local communities that there are so many Cub Scout groups; I understand that 4th Heald Green is the eleventh! 

“Cub Scouts are a great way for children to meet together and socialise in a safe and stimulating environment, where the emphasis is on learning and having fun.  My thanks to the members of 4th Heald Green for a warm welcome, and to the leaders for organising the formation of the pack so that even more local children can take part.”
